About Signelo

Tools for people who don’t have time to waste.

Free calculators, built by operators, for operators. No accounts, no paywalls, no follow-up emails you didn’t ask for.

What We Build

Fast answers to the questions that come up at work.

Most online calculators want you to sign up before they’ll tell you anything. Some want your credit card. Most stuff the page with twenty sections of SEO filler before they’ll surface a single number. Signelo does none of that.

You come in. You put in your numbers. You get the answer. That’s it.

We build free web calculators for the kind of questions that come up mid-meeting, mid-project, or mid-day — when you need a real number, not a rough guess. Meeting costs. Freelance rates. Equity math. Simple questions that take longer than they should to work out on the fly, especially when you’re staring down a decision and just want to know what it costs.

Who this is for

Three groups we build for, in descending order of obsession:

Founders and early-stage operators. People running sales, finance, ops, and hiring out of the same head. They don’t have time to read 40-tab spreadsheets or log into yet another SaaS to answer a 90-second question. These tools give them the number in under a minute.

Independent consultants and freelancers. People who set their own rate, run their own P&L, and occasionally need to sense-check whether they’re underpricing themselves or overcommitting their calendar. The freelance rate calculator was built for this group first.

Team leads and managers inside companies. People staring down a recurring meeting with eight attendees, wondering whether to cancel it. People negotiating a salary offer and wanting a sanity check on whether the benefits fringe makes sense. People preparing a deck about why the weekly all-hands is quietly expensive. The meeting cost calculator prints and exports on purpose.

How We Think About It

The rules we don’t break.

Every calculator on this site follows the same four rules. They’re not branding. They’re the operating constraint.

No signup gates

If you need an account just to run a calculation, the tool is getting in your way. Everything here works immediately, in your browser, without creating anything.

No inflated results

The numbers we surface are based on real math. We’d rather give you a useful figure than an alarming one. We don’t optimize for clicks on “shocking” outputs.

No tracking surprises

We use Google Analytics to understand which tools people use. We run Google AdSense so the tools stay free. That’s it. See the privacy policy.

Something to act on

A number without context doesn’t change anything. Every tool surfaces the figure and tells you what to do with it. That’s what makes it useful.

Methodology

How we decide what to build.

Most calculator sites are built to rank for keywords. We build for a different filter: would an actual operator, in an actual moment of decision, use this to get unstuck? That’s the bar. If the answer is no, we don’t ship it.

Every tool starts from a real question we’ve heard someone ask, either out loud in a meeting or typed into a Slack channel. The question gets its own page. We do the math. We stress-test the defaults. We add the context that tells you what the number means once you see it. Then we ship.

What we won’t do

We won’t build calculators that exist only to collect emails. We won’t gate results behind a popup. We won’t show you a “you’re losing $48,000/year” doom number to drive urgency. We’re not running that playbook.

Where the math comes from

The numbers behind every calculator are documented on the tool page itself — in the “How it works” section and the FAQ. For more detail on defaults, assumptions, and when each tool applies, see our methodology page. Nothing is a black box.

A note on the free tools → paid templates path. The calculators are free because we make a small cut when someone who got value from them buys a template in the Signelo shop. That’s the business model, and it’s the whole business model. It’s also why the tools don’t push you toward a template you don’t need. We’d rather you bookmark the calculator than buy something that doesn’t fit.

The Templates Side

When you need more than a number.

Signelo is two things. The calculators live here at signelo.io — free, always. The templates live in the Signelo shop — Google Sheets templates and toolkits for founders and households. Meeting agendas. Project trackers. Pipeline dashboards. Budget templates. Recurring scheduler. The Meeting Toolkit alone is $9 for three templates.

The tools show you where the problem is. The templates help you fix it. Same person, different job.

The templates are in the Signelo shop.

Meeting agendas, trackers, planners. Built to use, not just to look at.
